Description
This book recounts the story behind The Island of Happy Days, located in Red Cedar Lake, in Wisconsin's northwoods. In 1901, a famous Chicago lumber baron built an Adirondack-style lodge on this 26-acre island for use as his personal family retreat. After many years of neglect, the island was acquired by new owners in 1990. They revitalized the island's infrastructure while preserving the historic lodge, and now operate the facility as a first-class summer resort called Stout's Island Lodge.
